When you start a colon-cleansing regime you may feel a little drained and overtired at times, which is expected and completely normal. Colon cleansing can drain your body of energy and can cause a little bit of physical stress. When the body is cleansing harmful toxins it also removes some necessary nutrients that our body needs. In order to make the colon cleansing process easier we need to put these nutrients back into our bodies. This can be done easily by watching your diet and by taking specific supplements.
Pro-biotics:
During colon cleansing, harmful toxins as well as necessary nutrients are removed from the body. These nutrients are needed to guard against health problems and assist in moving waste down the digestive system. Pro-biotics work very well in replenishing these much-needed nutrients in your body
Vitamin C:
You may feel a bit drained or sluggish during the first few weeks of the colon cleanse. This is perfectly normal and is expected but it doesn’t have to be tolerated. You can combat this drained feeling by taking Vitamin C supplements, or by increasing your vitamin c intake.
Oil Supplements:
Fish oil, wheat germ, flax seed oil, olive oil, coconut oil etc. are all necessary during colon cleansing. As I mentioned before, during colon cleaning many beneficial nutrients are flushed away along with the harmful toxins, and you need to replace them. Oil supplements are a great way of doing this. You don’t need to take all of these oil supplements, just one is fine. If you need to choose one, I would recommend a fish oil supplement.
There are a few supplements and foods you should add to your diet when starting a colon cleanse and there are a few foods you should avoid. When undergoing a colon cleanse you should stay away from the following:
-
- Caffeine
- Any type of soda or carbonated drink
- Fast food
- Alcohol
- Junk food (Chips, candy, sweets)
- Smoking
You should avoid anything you don’t think is healthy, fast food and soda are obviously not. As a rule of thumb, if you have to think if a food is good for you then it probably isn’t.
When undergoing a colon cleansing your body empties itself of harmful toxins trapt in the walls of your intestines. During this process, the colon also flushes out necessary nutrients that out body need to function properly. If you don’t replenish these nutrients you will feel tired and sluggish. You need to put these nutrients back in your body if you want the colon cleansing process to go smoothly.
